There are a many gelators which we use in the lab and possibly hundreds of gelators which we do not use. The synthesis of all gelators which have been reported by us can be found referenced in the paper. In our lab naphthalene-based gelators are used frequently. Below is an explanation of the synthetic paths to nap-based gelators as well as a more detailed synthesis of the gelator 6Br2NapAV.
