Tejaswini, Hunter and Connor (Draper group) joined Fin on his beamtime to the I22 beamline at diamond light source. They had a great time investigating nanostructural changes while heating and cooling N-capped monopeptide gelation systems. Castlelaw Hillfort is an archaeological site in the Pentland hills near Edinburgh. Laura has been there this week doing some experiments on the applications of HVPDs in one of the underground structures on the site. She was investigating the effectiveness of these materials in different conditions.
Congratulations to Fin for his amazing proposal to the CoSAXS beamline at MAX IV. He achieved the highest score of the submissions this round. We wish him the best for this beamtime exploring antimicrobial hydrogels for medical implant coatings.
Max has made some pretty agarose gels with Nile Blue and Rhodamine B (pink) dyes for confocal microscopy.
